EDI Bowling Fundraiser Update

On May 25th, in a colorful evening, complete with costume accessories, Collaborative Divorce Toronto hosted a Bowling Fundraiser for our first EDI scholarship program. The event was well attended by legal, financial and family professionals as well as sponsors and friends. We had an incredible time enjoying fantastic food, comradery, and laughter for a good cause! There were many strikes to be had (and some gutter balls as well), but overall, we consider the event a roaring success because of the money it raised for the EDI scholarship. Through sponsorships, ticket sales, raffle draws, we surpassed our initial goal of $12,000 and raised a net total of $15,050.

The formation of the EDI Scholarship

Collaborative Divorce Toronto created the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee, which has spearheaded multiple EDI initiatives and training events. The committee wanted to find a way to actively reach out to diverse communities to seek participation from a greater number of individuals from under-represented and equity seeking groups. Through brainstorming with a dedicated group of EDI Committee Members, the idea was born for an EDI Scholarship and a bowling event to fund it!
