I am a Toronto Family Lawyer and an Accredited Family Mediator committed to helping families resolve their disputes respectfully. I know from experience that every family is different, every conflict nuanced and every solution unique. I am empathetic, a sound listener and a reasonable and skilled advocate for my clients.

Prior to partnering with Victoria and founding Resolve Dispute Resolution, I was an associate at a regional Bay street firm gaining experience in litigation. I assisted families in crisis whose family member was either injured or had passed away as a result of medical negligence. I understood that my clients needed a lawyer who was compassionate and on their side, but also able to consider everyone’s interests, was straightforward, and able to deliver results. I guided my clients through the highly emotional civil litigation process and represented them during mediations and settlement negotiations, as well as in the courtroom, including trials.

I learned firsthand the challenges of the court process: unpredictability and lack of control over the outcome, extreme delays and expense, and the escalation of conflict. I know that resolving disputes outside of the court system preserves relationships, empowers people to craft their own agreements and considers solutions beyond just the legal model. I am committed to assisting my clients separate and divorce with dignity and to ensure they feel their needs, legal and otherwise, have been met in the process.

As a mediator, my philosophy is the same: guide families through the separation process with support so they can negotiate custom crafted solutions that meet their family’s needs.

I am a member of Collaborative Practice Toronto, the Ontario Collaborative Law Federation, whether I sit on the Professional Development Committee and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. I am an accredited family mediator with the Ontario Association for Family Mediation. As an articling student, I founded the Articling Chapter of the Women’s Law Association of Ontario, and upon my call to the Bar, I founded the Young Lawyer’s Chapter of the same organization.

When I’m not working with families, I love being outside, cycling and hiking, being challenged at crossfit, and immersing myself in Toronto restaurants, movies and theatre.
