Stella obtained her Master of Social Work in 1982 and is Accredited as an Advanced Collaborative Professional. She is registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers. Stella has extensive clinical experience working with individuals, parents and children in conflict, who are experiencing emotional distress. She provides therapy to all ages and works with parents in formulating cooperative parenting plans through mediation. Her practice also includes Coaching as a way of supporting parents post-separation. Stella believes that an empathic approach allows for the building of trust and mutual respect. She works hard to maintain a child-centered model as a way of effectively addressing children’s needs and best interests. Stella has taught in the areas of separation, divorce and the emotional and practical consequences of coping with loss. She was on the Board of Collaborative Divorce Toronto from 2009 to 2015. Stella has been on the Board of Collaborative Professionals of Canada since 2020. Stella's work has been featured in the Globe and Mail as well as Today’s Parent magazine. She is a co-author of A Guide To A Sensible Divorce Answers to Your Questions published in 2022.
