Catherine is a lawyer practicing exclusively in the area of family law. Her practice is client-driven, solutions oriented and litigation informed.
Catherine eagerly works with clients and other professionals who want to develop integrated holistic strategies to address clients' legal and emotional needs, in an effort to reach customized private Agreements. With an undergraduate background in Social-Cultural Anthropology and Religion studies, Catherine is trained to be objective and non-judgmental in working with people of all backgrounds, beliefs and sexual orientations. She is comfortable working with all types of medical or financial professionals, counselors, spiritual leaders/healers and other stakeholders that are important to her clients.
With a practice primarily focused in Alternative Dispute Resolution, Catherine has completed her Certificate in Family Mediation at York University, has completed over 100 hundred internship hours in mediation, is a Collaboratively Trained Professional, and is trained as a Restorative Peace Circle Mediator. This past year, Catherine also trained to work with children to prepare Voice of the Child Reports.
Prior to her call to the bar, Catherine worked on the Family Law Rotation Project to assist Legal Aid clients access justice and articled with a sole practitioner practicing complex high-conflict family litigation.
Outside of her legal practice, Catherine actively volunteers with Peacebuilders International, as a restorative circle mediator with youth who have been charged with criminal offences. She also mentors law students who are interested in family law, and has coached law students in Mediation training and negotiations.
In her free time Catherine enjoys practicing yoga, dancing and being outdoors.
